Teach a computer to spot a ripe avocado

You sort some examples, a small program learns from them, then you find out if it really learned or just memorized. Nothing leaves this page.

Step 1 of 4

Sort some avocados

A computer cannot learn without examples. Each spot on the square is one avocado: further right is softer, higher up is darker skin.

Pick a kind, then tap the square to drop an avocado there. Or start from a basket somebody already sorted.

0 ready · 0 not ready yet · it needs at least 2 of each

Tip: put a few odd ones in, like a dark avocado that is still hard. Real data is never perfectly tidy.

Use the arrow keys to move the cross, hold Shift for bigger moves, and press Enter to place an avocado of the chosen kind.
